The trailers are disappering on go.
this mod is massive, and adds map extensions to simulate various locations such as:
* Hawaii (which looks an awful lot like the coasts of California),
* Canada,
* Cuba,
* Colorado.
It doesn't include every state. Plus, it "connects" those states via a Train Depot or Airport - which can cost up to $6,000 to go ONE WAY. So, suppose you have a Route contract that pays $15,000 (because you're only at level 7 or 8 & you're not using a cheat mod) to haul stuff to Rio. But the pickup is in Hawaii, and the central connection hub is in San Diego - what you would need to do is travel to San Diego, pay an average fee of $1500 to travel to Hawaii (which would take 30 days), drive to the pickup in Hawaii, pick up the freight, drive back to the port, pay ANOTHER $1500 to go BACK to San Diego, pay again in San Diego to travel to Rio de Janeiro, but this time it costs you $6,000, travel to Rio which takes 52 days, drive to the drop-off in Rio, and get paid $15,000. BUT you already spent $9000 JUST to do all that, so your profit is only a measly $6,000. Not counting the cost of speeding tickets, running red lights, traffic accidents, and truck damage. My opinion: FUCK ALL THAT.
And to make matters worse, IF you add this map mod to your game, ALL of the trucking contracts change from doing strictly local freight to doing US-to-foreign routes. Do you have any clue how expensive that is? Suppose you have a few drivers working for you, ALL of their travel expenses to foreign lands comes out of YOUR account. Many many times I had OVERDRAWN the Bank account *just* from my drivers hauling freight to Brazil. THIS SUCKS - h u g e !!!
** This mod should be changed to ONLY allow foreign routes AFTER a specific level, and their costs for shipping is also WAAAAY too much, so make a version for LOW costs, and another version for REALISTIC costs.
ALSO, there's this bug - well it's not really a bug, just a weird idiotic thing about the game. Suppose you have a route that requires using a routing hub, such as San Diego. Pretending you have a contract for freight in Hawaii to be hauled to Rio: once you get the freight to San Diego, you **MUST** backup the truck to reveal the green port floating bubble, then drive forward again to select it, to travel to Rio or whereabouts unknown. It's kinda stupid, but how else can you see it?
