The recent hype surrounding the Kenworth W900 in American Truck Simulator inspired the creator to add one to their own virtual fleet. However, a long-standing frustration with the lack of high-range fuel tanks on the W900—and a personal preference for low-sitting fuel tanks and sideskirts—sparked the idea for this mod.
After a week of development, the result is a set of massive 840-gallon fuel tanks designed specifically for the stock SCS Kenworth W900. While not modeled after any real-world counterparts, the design takes strong inspiration from the oversized tanks seen on Australian road trains. The creator notes that, having only encountered a single real Kenworth in over 30 years, some creative liberties were taken in the design.
Summary
- This mod contains a set of high-capacity (840 US gallons/>3000 Litres) fueltanks for the aforementioned SCS Kenworth W900.
- There are 5 variants of the fueltanks – Chrome, Paint/Chrome, Dechromed v1 & v2, and Fully Painted. The differences between the variants are purely cosmetic.
- The tanks come with treadplate walking areas, and round amber marker/positional lights.
- This mod was entirely built from scratch, with the exception of the marker lights which use stock game assets.
- The tanks come with custom locker style boxes (consider for air tanks and battery space), are only available for the 6×4 Long and 6×4 Anniversary chassis option, are not compatible with any of the door/rear step options on the W900 (because they have their own steps). They will automatically disable the stock doorstep options when selected in the shop.
Notes:
– Tested on ATS 1.54.x
– I cannot guarantee compatibility with other mods, especially ones that change the truck’s chassis, fueltanks or doorsteps.
– Other mods used in the screenshots: [SCR] Smarty’s Wheel Pack
– W900 Tuning Pack is not necessary, but this mod works with it anyway.
– Template for painted variants is linked below.
