Sedalia: The Heart of Central Missouri
Located just east of Kansas City, Sedalia is the county seat of Pettis County, boasting a rich history dating back to 1857. And with over 22,000 residents, this city features several must-see landmarks, including:
- The Katy Trail Bridge over US-50
- The historic district with a local church, gate, and tower
- The Welcome to Missouri State Fair display, showcasing a train, statues, and a water tower
Hannibal: The Boyhood Home of Mark Twain
Nestled along the Mississippi River, Hannibal sits right on the Illinois border. Famous as the birthplace of Mark Twain, this historic town features beautifully recreated landmarks, including a local bank, church, and school. Be sure to stop and soak in the literary history!
